The brief
We were tasked by KEEN to come up with a shoot concept to promote the brand’s collaboration with virtuoso guitarist Jerry Garcia. The musician is best known for his work with the Grateful Dead, but he was also an accomplished artist. It was two of Garcia’s paintings that form the basis for the sandals in the collaboration.
How we did it
We took the sandals into the studio and used multiple lights and gels to create various colourful and playful effects to reflect the artwork on which the shoes are based. The images formed the backdrop for a special fold out cover and editorial feature in Proper Magazine on the unique story behind the collaboration.
